Tips from Dallas

1.Be careful: most accidents can be avoided.

2.Are you unsure as to whether or not you need a Building Permit? Call the Building
Department. We can help.

3.Replace old extension cords and dangerous power tools - You've earned it!

4.If a project is too big, get help! - Remember, if you get hurt, the project stops!

5.Construction debris does NOT go into City dumpsters! Garbage trucks were not designed
to handle lumber and large debris!

6.You DO need a Building Permit to build a fence! However, these building permits are free
and can be obtained by contacting the Building Inspector.

7.With summer just around the corner, it's extremely important to remember to stay
hydrated! Drink plenty of water!

8.Questions on Building Codes? Give me call, come to my office, or find me in town.

9.Building to minimum code or better makes your building safer, lasts longer and sells
better. Consider it a good investment.

10.     Think of the Building Department as an asset! A needed alliance between the State, the
City, the Buildings, and more importantly, the safety for all people.
