** Due to 13-14-115 MCA, it is not necessary for the City of Hardin to hold a primary nominating election. All Candidates will automatically advance to the General election which will be on November 6, 2007.
As a result of the most recent legislative session, there will be a study group formed to address the possibilities of all elections being conducted by mail ballot. This would include State and Federal elections as well. The study group will review all municipal elections conducted by mail ballot during the 2007 Election cycle to determine their feasibility.
It has been suggested, as other cities across the State are trying this fall, that the City of Hardin conduct the General Election by mail ballot. The ballots would simply be mailed and counted at the Clerk and Recorders office.
At this point it is unknown whether or not this will happen, but it is a possibility.
