Chamber of Commerce The purpose of the Hardin Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee shall be to accept and dispense funding from the City of Hardin and Big Horn County, to assist in new business creation, existing business expansion, non-profit funding and in all areas that work for the betterment of the economic stability of the community.
This committee has, in the past, expended funds for non-profit grant matches, travel and expenses for economic development related meetings, provided matching funds for Custer Country grants as well as expenses incurred for meetings such as TAC, Depot etc.
Funds have also been spent on the design and maintenance of billboards and
signage in Hardin and Big Horn County. The Trail of George Armstrong
Custer is a fund raising effort of this committee.
Membership, as set forth in the initial stages of this committee, shall be considered as: anyone interested in the economic development in the City of Hardin and Big Horn County. Members are expected to attend meetings and work on committee projects. Although Chamber membership is not a requirement, it is recommended.
Officers are chosen as follows:
Chairman - member of the Hardin area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
Vice-Chairman - elected from general membership Secretary - elected from general membership Treasurer - elected from general membership All members of the committee are allowed equal vote in the operations of the committee. There is no set quorum required for a legal vote.
Meeting dates shall be the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Currently held at 7:00 am at the
Merry Mixer.
Meeting agendas and minutes shall be sent to all members prior to the next meeting.
Mailing list shall include all members of record as well as, the City of Hardin, Big Horn County Commissioners, Historical Society, Custer Country, Chamber of Commerce, and CLG/HPO.
Mailing list shall be updated yearly at the discretion of the committee.
